PROJECTS.
Students in Years 7 and 9 are working on investigative assignments.
Studying subjects that are of environmental concern to the Island's community.
Michelle Sharkey and Phillip O'Connor are
making fortnightly measurements of the of the marine organisms found in a number of rock
pools in Slaughter Bay.

Dana Menghetti has studied the distinguishing patterns on all the species of the
turtles found around the Island so as she is able to recognize and map different species
of turtles around the Island.
Lisa
Quintal is measuring the distribution and habits of the asian paper wasp which was
introduced to the island approximately three years ago. Hers is one of few studies of this
recently introduced pest.

Tom Greenwood has based his research and measurements on the coastal fish
of Norfolk's waters. He measures the distribution of different species of fish in
specially selected areas.
Lachlan King and Janelle Haward are examining
the indigenous birds of Norfolk Island and how they're affected by introduced species and
human habitation. Special emphasis will be made on studying the two threatened species of
bird on the island, the Green Parrot and the Boo book Owl.
